From humble origins among playing cards, the Tarot of Marseilles emerged as the first family of decks that were designed for and used in fortune telling. It is the basis from which numerous other divination and playing tarot decks were designed up to this day. As such, it is a key element of the Western spiritual heritage.
This exquisite deck, designed by Jean Dodal around 1712, is presented in the form of a simple five-card spread that draws from the 22 major arcana only. The explanations given are not verbose but to the point. A reversed card comes with a different explanation, but lets the user straighten the card to see its positive meaning. Let the cards tell you their timeless story, simple and clear.

Great card pictures. Only one spread, and only the major arcana. Adding the minor arcana (even it is an antique French playing card deck) and the Celtic cross spread would increase the value of this deck tremendously
There is only only one spread. You should have the ability to do all the common spreads. You cant look at the cards and study them--- if you want to see what a particular Marseilles card looks like you have to have it come up in a reading. You should be able to browse the cards as you can in other Tarot apps. The animations are annoying. You should be able to turn them off and u cant. The card images are those freely available at Wikipedia. So if u just need the images, go there instead. The app is buggy. Sometimes the description for a card stays when the next card is displayed. When there are apps like The Lovers and The Goddess decks for 3.99 that let you do huge amounts of things, and Tarot Pro that is even cheaper and lets u do all sorts of things, .99 is too much for this simplistic app. I wanted to like this app but it is just not acceptable.
